texas drone rules

Texas just made it illegal to fly drones over state capitol grounds

The Texas Department of Public safety announced today that in an effort to enhance safety over its capitol and prevent violent confrontations, they are banning items that are made or can be adapted for the purpose of preparing a person to engage in a combat. While the list is long and includes items like craw bars and tasers, drones made it to the list.

Texas has been very engaged and forward thinking when it comes to drone threats. The state made it illegal earlier this year to fly drones over critical infrastructure like electrical plants, oil and gas refineries, water utilities, ports, dams and correctional facilities.

According to Texas state law, Texas Department of Public safety has the authority to enforce drone rules over the Capitol Complex.
