FAA Drone Regulations: No Drone Zone for those attending the Super Bowl

The FAA is warning the public that the Super Bowl is a “No Drone Zone”. Anyone caught flying a drone near this event are at risk of being “intercepted, detained, and interviewed” by authorities. Consequences for breaking the rule could result in jail time and fines for “careless and reckless” operation.

It is illegal to fly unauthorized aircraft, such as a drone, over or near any NFL games, not just the Super Bowl. The FAA already prohibits the flying of drones near large sports stadiums (seating 30,000+ fans) while games are in process.
