Do Not Fly your drone near fireworks 4th of July 2019

Happy 4th of July: Be safe and do NOT fly your drone near the fireworks

Everyone in the US is getting ready to celebrate the Fourth of July, and no Independence Day celebration is complete without a display of colorful explosions. This means fireworks! While it might be tempting to capture video of the light displays with your drone, the FAA wants you to think again and keep your drone away from fireworks.

The FAA wants to remind everyone to be safe and not fly their drones near the firework shows this Fourth of July. Here are general guidelines for people flying drones:

  • Don’t fly your drone in or near fireworks
  • Don’t fly over people
  • Don’t fly near airports

In the FAA’s latest reminder, they also link to the Federal law describing how, when, and where you can fly drones for recreational purposes.

Are you looking for the best fireworks in the US? Travel Channel put together a slideshow of the best spots across the nation to watch fireworks.

Drone safe and have a Happy Fourth of July!
