‘Drone Warrior’ author Brett Velicovich speaks out about the need for officials to be better prepared for drone attacks and the need for implementing a layered drone counter approach in terms of security.

Drone manufacturers are starting to incorporate a “geo-fencing” feature into their software. This creates a virtual perimeter that prevents a drone from entering the “fenced” area. He warns there are ways to hack this feature and turn it off; thus allowing the drone to fly freely. You still need to apply another layer of counter drone security to prevent dangerous drones from entering the airspace. Cities, college campuses, stadiums, airports, and any public event with a concentrated number of people are particularly vulnerable to potential armed-drone attacks.
